Springtime in Llansteffan

Spring is here! Wales is beautiful all year round, but it's particularly stunning in Springtime. We took a trip to Llansteffan beach, a little gem on the coast of Carmarthenshire in South-West Wales.

We went for a lovely walk along the coast and enjoyed the views of miles and miles of pristine sand and the beautiful estuary. Further inland, we explored the remains of Llansteffan Castle, which overlooks the River Tywi as it enters Carmarthen Bay. There were so many beautiful Spring flowers and wildlife, it was such a special day.

Llansteffan has been described by some as Wales' best kept secret, so I'll let these photos speak for themselves...
What a spectacular beach!
Have you been to visit Llansteffan?

5 things to make a house a home

1. Fresh Flowers
I love filling my home with vases of fresh flowers. Roses and lilies are gorgeous, and it's also nice to have seasonal flowers, such as daffodils and tulips during Spring. Blue hydrangeas are a particular favourite of mine at the moment.
2. Coffee table details
A coffee table is a great focal point, so it's nice to style it in a way that shows it off to its best.

3. Personal touches
I love this card my boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day, it's so cute. I think I'll frame it! Oh look, the blue hydrangea sneaked in there again ;-)

4. Coffee!
Put the kettle on, wake up and smell the coffee. The best homes have great coffee!

5. Soft furnishings
A sheepskin rug. A Mongolian cushion. Textures add warmth and comfort.

A Happy Easter

My boyfriend and I visited my parents over the Easter weekend, and mum treated us to some gorgeous "old school" Easter fairy cakes, decorated with butter cream, flake, mini eggs and chicks...

Aren't they just gorgeous?! I love the polka dot fairy cake cases.

Another highlight was this pretty homemade Easter Egg tree...
Simply paint some twigs with white paint, and insert the twigs into a pot filled with pebbles, and decorate as you wish :) Mum purchased these Easter egg hanging decorations from The Poundshop.

I hope you all had a very happy Easter!

Discovering Swansea

One of the best things about moving somewhere new is going exploring, and Swansea has no shortage of places to experience and revisit. Here are a few of my favourites so far!

1. Swansea Bay
Swansea Bay has the second highest tidal range in the world. From high tide to low tide (and back again!), it's a constantly changing postcard picture, and when the sun shines I really do feel like I'm on holiday. I love how the atmosphere of the bay changes throughout the day.

2. Three Cliffs Bay
What really strikes me about Three Cliffs Bay is just how quiet and peaceful it is. The gentle background sound of waves and the endless expanse of sand is so beautiful and relaxing. I think that the weather and time of day affects the general "feel" of Three Cliffs. On a dull, wintery day, it can appear to be dark and moody, whereas on a sunny day it's a carefree and idyllic hideaway.

3. Caswell Bay
Caswell Bay is a happy place. Lots of dog walkers, families and surfers.

4. Epic views!
Sometimes I get surprised by the beautiful views from unexpected places. I took these shots from a housing estate in Ravenhill.

5. Oxwich Bay
What a fabulous beach! Perfect for paddle boarding, and there are lots of lovely walks in the surrounding area.

6. Rhossili
Take a trip to Rhossili, find your spot and watch the sun go down. It's on the southwestern tip of the Gower Peninsula, and it's pretty special.
