6 Holiday "Must-Haves"

As much as I love Wales, it's great to have a holiday to look forward to. Every holiday requires a list and some retail therapy, so I thought I'd share with you my 6 holiday "must-haves". This is by no means an exhaustive list (I could have been very sensible and chosen stuff like a universal adapter, torch, clean underwear, toothbrush, phone charger, cuddly toy etc), but the items I've listed here help to ensure that I'm well prepared and my holiday goes off without a hitch.

1. Sunglasses
They don't have to be designer. You can get a great pair on the high street, although it may be worth paying a little bit extra for something that lasts a bit longer than a pair that costs £5 (as I discovered!). I take at least two pairs on holiday, in case I fancy a change, or in the event that I break/scratch/lose a pair (it happens!). I'm a big fan of the Jackie O style, for an effortlessly classic and glamorous look. My bestie and I enjoy trying on various styles at the airport :-)

2. A beach cover up

A cover up is functional, looks great, and provides a bit of protection from the sun. It's lovely to throw on when you get out of the pool or after a dip in the sea, and it dries out so quickly in the sun. By the end of a beach holiday, my cover up smells of that evocative "holiday" type smell; sun lotion and the sea...bliss!

3. Oil-free sunscreen lotion
The holy grail of all sunscreen lotions! No more breakouts! For years, I loathed using greasy sun lotions, until I discovered this GREAT Banana Boat Ultra Defense Sheer Protect oil-free sunscreen lotion (factor 30) whilst on holiday in Cancun, and I've stocked up on it ever since. It has aloe vera in it too, so it feels lovely and soothing.

It's so important to protect your skin. This sun lotion is great, I even wear it under makeup. I can only get it online though :-/ If you know of any oil-free sun lotion on the high street then please let me know.

4. A decent bikini
I like a halterneck style bikini with tie-side briefs, as I find that this is the most flattering style for my shape. Once you find a bikini you like, buy at least 2 of them...actually, make that 3! I tend to wear a favourite bikini to death, and it can be tricky finding a replacement that's just as flattering. I got this bikini top from Next, and the briefs from H&M. Black isn't a very daring colour, but it's flattering and stylish, and goes nicely under a white cover up.

5. A tote
A tote is perfect for a carry-on. It's surprising how quickly it fills up with "stuff"...last minute purchases at the airport, chargers, iPhone, magazines, passport etc. There's an inner zipped compartment I can use for more valuable and/or personal items. I love my tote!

6. A Little Black Dress
It's a cliché. It's a staple! Dress it up with heels and accessories for the evening, dress it down with flats for a more casual look. Here I am, rocking the LBD with the lovely Renata and Petra. You can't beat the LBD.

So there we have it, my 6 holiday "must haves"! I'd love to hear about yours :-)
