Grape & Olive at the Meridian Tower

On Wednesday evening we went for dinner at the Grape & Olive, a restaurant/bar situated on the 28th floor of the Meridian Tower; the tallest building in Wales. We'd been to the restaurant once before at night time, and thought it would be nice to go again during the day to fully appreciate the amazing views over Swansea Bay, the City Centre and the Marina.

The view!
The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows and fantastic views of Swansea and the surrounding area. It was lovely to have a wander around the restaurant to fully appreciate the views and look for familiar city landmarks.

We ordered some drinks and took a look at the menu, which is predominantly steak and fresh fish dishes.
I ordered the roast chicken supreme with smoked bacon, crushed potatoes and buttered green beans with fresh salsa verde. Delicious!
D ordered steak with Café de Paris butter, served with a slow roast tomato, a grilled flat cap mushroom, thick cut chips, peppery rocket, and cracked peppercorn sauce. The restaurant is proud to serve Welsh Celtic Pride Beef, which means that all cattle are born, reared and finished on Welsh farms, ensuring a consistent high quality. D gave it the thumbs up!

The dessert menu was impressive, and the sharing slate of puddings (sticky toffee and date pudding, blueberry Eton mess, warm chocolate brownie and raspberry, white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake with clotted cream and Pimm's ice cream) sounded fantastic.

We decided that this option was a little bit extravagant, so we shared a dessert instead. We were torn between the salted caramel fondant with salted caramel sauce and clotted cream, and the raspberry, white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake with clotted cream ice cream. We went for the cheesecake in the end, which was lovely.

Grape & Olive at the Meridian Tower is a great venue for informal dining with stunning views. It's the perfect place for a catch up with the girls, a romantic dinner, or a special occasion. I would recommend adding this to your "must see" list of places to visit in Swansea.
