Wonderful Welsh Waterfalls!

Wales is home to many hundreds of waterfalls, so we thought we'd go and check some out! On this occasion, we visited Gwaun Hepste, near Ystradfellte; gateway to the famous Four Falls Trail. This is an area of South Wales known as Waterfall Country, and has lots of truly spectacular waterfalls. The trail takes in the waterfalls of Sgwd yr Eira and Clun-Gwyn, and is 5.5 miles long. I found it to be a fairly energetic walk, with some steep bits, but it was well worth the effort.

My favourite was Sgwd Yr Eira (translated from Welsh as "fall of snow") waterfall, which has a path going behind the cascade of water. Isn't it beautiful?
This little fella came along to say hello...I hope he didn't mind having his picture taken!
