The Gower Peninsula: An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The Gower Peninsula is a short drive from Swansea, and it's a great place to go for an adventure. It's such a beautiful place; it was designated as the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty back in 1956, and 60 years later it's just as stunning! Everything is unspoiled; there aren't any high-rise hotels, just miles and miles of gorgeous beaches and lush green countryside. We love to go there for a relaxing walk, particularly in the summertime.

The Gower is home to some of the most beautiful sections of the Wales Coast Path, which opened in 2012, and allows walkers to explore almost the entire welsh coastline (wow!). There are so many lovely things to see; wildlife, coastal cliffs, pretty thatched cottages, long sandy beaches and impressive surf. It's the perfect place for adventure seekers and nature lovers.
Gorgeous thatched cottage!

A secluded cove
Beautiful wildflowers
What a view!
We found our spot overlooking Three Cliffs Bay, which was a lovely place to enjoy the warm sunshine and experience the peacefulness of being by the sea. We could see and hear people enjoying themselves on the beach below us; some of them were even brave enough to take a dip!
What a beautiful day! There's something so special about being by the sea. The Gower Peninsula is a tranquil haven of natural beauty, and we had such a lovely time. I hope you have a great weekend! Angharad x
